So lucky to get to work with Dan Davis Design on this gorgeous powder room. When installing this ceramic tile wall, I had the homeowner, Ann Marie, hand feed me tiles as I mudded them to the surface. There were 10 different designs, and I didn’t want to be responsible for these executive decisions!
I didn’t notice until after I had installed the tile and the counter…but Dan designed the marble top to reflect the shape of the wall tiles! I love the way the tile is reflected in the mirror (but glad I’m not the one cleaning it!). Installing the crown molding in this tiny room (above glass and tile) was a challenge, but worth the effort!
This was the first time I have had the chance to install a wall-mount faucet (that wasn’t for a bathtub) and the first time I had installed a bottle-trap. All measurements had to be spot on! While I personally did the final installations, I called in my baby brother Russell, of Ken Cook Plumbing, for help on the “rough”, pictured on the right. I ran threaded pipe back into a 2×6 to hold the antique corbels. A header was installed just above the faucet diverter-valve to pick up the load incurred by clearing the area for corbel/marble support and drain.
