Jeff’s Bathroom

I love this bathroom! It was so much fun working with Jeff, because he was totally open to using some really fun materials. The hard part was doing a bathroom remodel in a 1-bathroom house!

If anyone needed and deserved a new bathroom it was Jeff…Demolition time! This always makes the girl on the right, my daughter and first mate Sabrina, very happy! She is almost finished with college, and I will miss her working for me once she begins her own career or takes off for grad school! She has been around construction her entire life. Seriously, she was on the jobsite when she was 6 days old, riding on a backhoe at 12 months and climbing scaffolding at two. This girl can do it all!

I guess you can call the magazine rack contraption I build into bathrooms a signature item…now the extra cubby is home for a dozen Disney Characters and dinosaur action figures!

I borrowed 12″ from the coat closet next to the bathroom so that there was space for some adjustable shelving and a new bathroom fan. Jeff is a tall guy, so he needed a custom medicine cabinet. I used the tile from the floor to border it, built it on my kitchen table and installed it with 5 hinges and a safety chain! I don’t think it is going anywhere!

My favorite part is the amazing circular tile that was chosen as an accent. It came on sheets, but they were too far apart, so I had to remove all the “dots” and lay them out one at a time. So pretty, fun and unexpected!
